Morrie I. Levine was born and raised in New York City. He graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Accounting and also received his Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law. Mr. Levine had the experience of being a title closer for three title companies in New York City. He also conducted mortgage closings for a law firm that was one of the three law firms representing a major commercial lender in New York City. He then worked as a legal editor on three different publications for the Pension and Profit-Sharing division of Prentice Hall, Inc. Mr. Levine then opened his own law office in May 1986 in Miami, Florida. In 1989, Mr. Levine successfully defended a client who was accused of Fraud in the sale of a business. That lawsuit provided an education as to the rights and obligations of the Seller and the Purchaser in the sale and acquisition of a business. Since then, Mr. Levine has been actively involved in representing clients in the purchase, sale and start-up of businesses from both the transactional and litigation perspective. The Law Office of Morrie I. Levine moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1994.
Mr. Levine is admitted to the Florida, New Jersey, and New York State Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Fourth U.S. District Court of Appeal, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Levine practices before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida (handling Adversary Proceedings and other complex litigation issues). Mr. Levine frequently represents clients in both Circuit and County Court in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. In addition, Mr. Levine has represented clients in other counties across the State of Florida. Also, Mr. Levine has represented clients on numerous occasions in Administrative hearings and before governmental agencies (in Tallahassee and around the state). In summation, Mr. Levine’s law practice is focused towards the sale and acquisition of businesses, but his clients have made him into a “well-rounded/well-versed attorney,” willing to find the answers to his clients’ problems.
Mr. Levine has had various interests in and outside of the practice of law. Currently, Mr. Levine is the Mentorship Committee Chairman for the Stephen H. Boorer Inn of the American Inns of Court (an organization that strives to improve the legal profession by mentoring law students and young attorneys). Mr. Levine is also Vice-President for the Justice Unit of B’nai B’rith (Ft. Lauderdale). Previously, Mr. Levine was a Vice-President of the Bench and Bar Unit of B’nai B’rith (Miami).
