Guys & Dolls Hair Salon has been a premier Fort Lauderdale hair salon since 1982. Our staff is the heart of our business - all trained & certified in every aspect of hair color & style, including Keratin & color correction. Our talented hair stylists are unique and very special - it is for this reason that Guys & Dolls Hair Salon does not fit into a typical hair salon category...I guess you could say that makes us atypical. From the outside, the salon looks quite un-assuming; however, as soon as you walk through the door you experience sensory overload and feel the positive energy that permeates through the entire salon.

How long have you been in business?
Guys & Dolls has been serving Fort Lauderdale since 1985. Since 2006 we have been at our current location on Cypress Creek & Dixie.
What is your primary product or service?
Simply put, HAIR. We are color specialists and we primarily offer all types of Hair Services: Styling, Color, Highlights, Corrective Color, Keratin, Perms, Damage Therapy, and Extensions. We also offer Nail Services and Facial Waxing for our client's convenience.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
At Guys & Dolls we are blessed by having two Owners who are on premises all day, every day. Francisco, the Managing Owner, has been with the company since 1998. In 2006, when the previous owners moved out of the area, Francisco inherited the business. There was not much left at that point - just a few tubes of color and pieces of furniture (and most importantly the phone number and domain name) - but Francisco did not want Guys& Dolls to fade away. The lease was due to expire in 90 days, so Francisco spent countless hours scouring Fort Lauderdale for a new location. He came across a salon for sale on Cypress Creek & Dixie and on August 1, 2006, Guys & Dolls was given a second life. Although Francisco was a Master Colorist & Stylist, he knew that running a business was not his strong point, so he brought in his friend (Jonathan) to take care of the business end of the salon. Jonathan does everything except touch the clients and Francisco does everything except touch the checkbook.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are several factors that distinguish Guys & Dolls from other salon's in the area. As previously mentioned, we have 2 owners on-site at all times, and this makes a huge difference. Anyone who has ever watched an episode of Tabatha knows that the #1 reason salons do not do well is that the owner is not present, either physically, mentally, or both. Another factor is that we stick to what we are good at: Hair. While it would be nice to be a full-service spa with massage, facials, bikini waxing, make-up, accupuncture.... things get diluted and the focus is lost when too many things are going on. We keep the focus on hair, we do not hire stylists right out of school, and we keep the bar set very high. Many people comment on the decor of the place and the most frequently used term is 'eclectic'. Guys & Dolls is one of things in life that has to be experienced. The salon is busy 5 days a week and people feel the positive energy from the instant they take their first step through the door. There is no drama here and people are amazed at how well the entire staff gets along. It is all about taking csre of the client and our client's appreciate that.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location, 935 NE 62 Street (NW corner Cypress Creek & Dixie). Plans to expand are a dream of the owners.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Coming from the: -North: I95 south to Cypress Creek Road. Make a left on Cypress Creek. Get into the left lane and make the 1st left after the light (make a left at the Jiffy Lube). Go into that plaza and we are at the opposite end from the Jiffy lube. - South: I95 north to Cypress Creek Road East (next exit after Commercial Blvd.) Get into the left lane and continue east on Cypress Creek Road. Make the 1st left after the light (make a left at the Jiffy Lube). Go into that plaza and we are at the opposite end from the Jiffy lube. - East: Go west on 62nd Street. The name changes to Cypress Creek Road after crossing the train tracks at Dixie. We are located in the 1st plaza (Pinecrest Square) on the right. If you are north or south of Cypress Creek, you can take Dixie Hwy to Cypress Creek and we are on the NW corner. - West: Take Cypress Creek Road east. Go under I95 and get into the left lane. Make a left after the first light at the Jiffy Lube. Go into that plaza and we are at the opposite end from the Jiffy lube. If you are north or south of Cypress Creek, you can take Andrews or Powerline to Cypress Creek and then follow the directions given previously.

Which areas do you service?
Guys & Dolls services a tremendous area, extending south to Hollywood, Sunny Isles, Miami, Pembroke Pines, Weston, Cooper City, Plantation, Sunrise, Margate, Coconut Creek, and north to Pompano, Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and even West Palm Beach. We have clients from the west coast (Naples, Fort Meyers), the Keys, and the Bahamas. And of course all over metro Fort Lauderdale.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Francisco (managing Owner) & Jonathan (Business Owner).
What are your hours of operation?
Tuesday - Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM. Thursdays & Fridays we are here till 9 PM.
