How long have you been in business?
LegalShield is a 42 year old Company purchased three years ago for $650 Million by a private equity firm. The company recently went through an exciting "rebranding" with a whole new look and feel. I have personally been an Independent Associate for 10 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Legal Service Plans and Identity Theft Credit Monitoriing and Restoration Service for individuals, families and small businesses. These services are also offered at a discounted employee rate through employers as a "voluntary employee benefit". There are also "specialty plans" protecting commercial truck drivers, teachers, law enforcement officers, etc.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My background is in Corporate America. After having my one and only child just before I turned 44 yrs of age, I decided that I did not wait 44 years to have her to pay someone else to raise her, I wanted to work for myself and preferably from home. A gentleman came over to show my husband the "Small Business Legal Plan" to protect his tile, marble and wood flooring installation business. It was a brief presentation, was affordable, and made complete sense to us, so we enrolled! I inquired as to whether they had a "Family Plan" since we had a minor child and did not have a Will, (not even knowing that they had a family plan and it INCLUDED a Will, Living Will and Health Care Directive at NO additional cost!), He showed us the Family Plan, and again, a complete "no brainer" to protect your entire family legally nationwide for less than $1 a day, so we enrolled in it as well. We thanked him for the information but before he left, I asked if there was an income opportunity because I could see myself doing what he had just done. He gave us a tape (now in DVD form or a website link) and said "I'll give you a call in a couple of days to get your feedback, specifically if it "made sense" to YOU and what YOU "liked best" about it, fair enough? And we'll go from there". I appreciated the fact that he was not pushy. After watching him simply share some information about a service that TRULY helps people and is affordable to the masses, I knew this was something I could get behind and endorse wholeheartedly. So we are truly "Making a Living While Making a Difference" and ANYONE can do this! I have been happily and successfully working for myself and working from home, as an Independent Associate with LegalShield for the past 10 years and I LOVE what I do!

(An example of an "open panel system" is when you sign up for an HMO or PPO and receive a thick book full of doctor's names and numbers with no knowledge of their experience or customer service level and without a monitoring system in place to ensure that you receive the excellent service you deserve). The "Identity Theft Shield" service is offered through Kroll, Inc. a 30+ year old, publicly traded company which is the world's leading risk management consulting company.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
LegalShield's Home Office is situated on 82 acres in Ada, Oklahoma in a huge facility built to accomodate much anticipated expansion and currently employs over 800 individuals and approximately 400,000 Independent Associates that market the services through a home-based business model. There are also two satellite locations in Antler and Duncan, OK. As an Independent Associate, my home base is Florida, however, since there are no "territories", I am able to offer these services to anyone residing in North America. What type of payments do you accept?
There is a convenient "on-line enrollment option" through one of the following websites: www.MustHaveBenefits.com or www.sbyrtus.legalshieldassociate.com Payments are done via automatic monthly draft through checking, debit or credit card. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. An alternative to the monthly draft option is by paying one year in advance. Those wishing to pay by money order may due so on a paper application and one year in advance.
