Ana G. Méndez University System (AGMUS) through the Programa AHORA, offers the first Accelerated Dual Language Immersion Model® in the United States. Established in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1949, AGMUS has two campuses in Florida: Orlando and South Florida. The South Florida Campus, located in the Miramar Park of Commerce, offers Bachelor and Master degrees programs in Education, Business Administration, Social Sciences and Tourism, among others. We offer bachelor and master degree programs and services that are designed specifically for the needs and expectations of the adult who is interested in a professional improvement program that is accelerated and that complements his/her lifestyle. All of our programs follow the Discipline-Based Dual Language Immersion Model®, the first dual language university program in the nation. The model allows students the opportunity to obtain their university degree at the same time they develop both their English and Spanish language skills.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The need for bilingual professionals in English and Spanish increases every day. The global nature of business and professional transactions, together with the fast and continuous growth of the Latino population throughout the United States , makes it essential for employers to hire and train people that are effective in more than one language and culture.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our accelerated dual language academic programs are unique in the nation offering bachelor's and master's degrees and designed to prepare professionals in their field of study while at the same time develops advanced skills in English and Spanish.
